2022 ARCA Young Ham of the Year

Ashtyn Timberlake, KI7HHU was named the 2022 ARCA Young Ham of the Year. She was nominated by the Yavapai Amateur Radio Club where she was one of the first 500 students to study and receive her license through the club's Youth Amateur Radio Club. Ashtyn has helped to organize, participate in, and teach at local and club events. She not only helped plan activities at the club's ARISS event, but was selected to speak with the astronaut on the International Space Station. More than 600 people participated in the event.

Ashtyn learned skills as a young ham and was able to put them to use. She designed and built a rapid deployment emergency repeater and taught electronics and robotics to others. She acts as a mentor to the club's young hams as well.

Ashtyn's has great potential to have a positive impact in Amateur Radio and on the world around her. She is committed to working with young hams and empowering them. Ashtyn is a great asset to the Amateur Radio Community and very deserving of this award.

Congratulations, Ashtyn!
